Make the case part of your day
A firm closed case keeps a small cap away from towels, loose bags and equipment. Sand is abrasive, and a piece wrapped in tissue is easy to throw away. Before heading to a beach or pool, take the jewellery out and put it somewhere secure.
Do not leave the case on a dashboard or in direct heat. The issue is not a promise that one temperature will damage every alloy; it is avoiding unnecessary exposure and protecting the whole piece, its setting and any storage materials.
Gentle is the useful word
Rinse after wearing, use a soft brush and an appropriate mild soap where suitable, then dry before storage. Ask us for the guidance for your specific metal and setting. Abrasive toothpaste, harsh chemicals and improvised polishing compounds can harm the finish.
Clean your teeth before replacing the jewellery. Remove it for food and drinks other than water, and do not sleep in it. If a fit becomes uncomfortable, stop wearing it rather than pressing it back into place.
Know when cleaning is not the answer
Pain, pressure or irritation needs attention to the fit or dental suitability, not a stronger cleaner. Contact us about the piece and consult a licensed dentist for a dental concern. Do not bend the cap, use glue or treat the jewellery as a repair for a tooth.
